CXC/CSEC Chemistry Extra Lessons

Class Times:
Face to Face or Online
Stream 1 Saturdays 1:30pm-4:30pm
Stream 2 Sundays 1:15pm-4:15pm
Chemistry is concerned with the physical and chemical properties of substances and the interaction of energy and matter. The discipline seeks to explain and predict events at the atomic and molecular level.
Virtual or Face to Face Classes
At ExtraTime there is full syllabus coverage in the year. Both 4th and 5th form topics covered.
Class Structure:
. The classes are structured as follows:
*2 hours for content delivery
*15 min tutorial
*1 hour for past papers
*20 mins for assignment review and discussions
Assignments are marked weekly and individual feedback provided.
Learning Management System:
Students have an online database with recordings of all the classes, tutorials and assignment reviews.
The online database gives personalized 24 hour access to students and parents. Students can review materials at their pace and parents can monitor; weekly attendance, view marked assignments and progress reports.
School Based Assessments:
There is SBA assistance and students who were not assigned the subject at school can do SBAs and sit exams privately.

List Of Lessons
The class environment was very comfortable and the class helped me to fully grasp topics which I found difficult to understand.
Dr. Smith possesses a great desire to teach and a determination to increase every student’s understanding of the topics in the curriculum. She is very professional inside the classroom, curating an environment that maximizes learning. Her compassionate and warm personality makes it easy to ask questions as she never makes any question seem too big or too small. She is always consistently respectful towards students.
My experience at Extra Time Tutoring has been worth it for the 3 years that I have enrolled. Dr. Smith has always maintained a high level of professionalism and she was always easy to approach in or out of the classroom. There was always an atmosphere of respect between her and her students and the environment was always kept and conditioned for learning. Dr. Smith has made me achieve my full potential and the grades speak for themselves.

I struggled with CSEC Chemistry throughout my entire 4th form year at the Wolmer’s Boys’ School. As such, I began to inquire about extra classes which was how I became a student at Dr. Smith ‘ExtraTime Tutoring’. Since joining in September 2019, my interest in Chemistry grew tremendously and as such my performance got a lot better going forward. Now, I can proudly say that ‘ExtraTime Tutoring’ has help me significantly in my preparations.
Dr. Smith always believed in each and every one of us, even when in doubt she still kept pushing us to the best of our ability. I really admire her professionalism. She is one of the easiest teachers I can talk to in class and also out of class because she isn’t one of those people you are afraid to talk to. Her ability to explain concepts is outstanding. She always corrects every assignment done and gives feedback as soon as possible.
As a parent, working with Dr. Smith over three years was a blessing. I felt confident that my daughter would be successful. I observed the changes in my daughter as she became more confident, focused, disciplined and motivated. Dr. Smith also guided me in order to assist my child. She is respectful, a motivator and a true professional. Overhearing some of the online lectures being discussed during this pandemic I have learnt a lot.
